Sustainable resale — keeping quality items out of landfills

Our Commitment

Shopping That's Good for the Planet.

Every secondhand purchase is a vote for a more thoughtful, less wasteful world.

The Impact of Resale

Why Resale Matters

The fashion and furniture industries are among the most resource-intensive on the planet. Millions of tons of usable clothing, furniture, and household goods end up in landfills every year — not because they're worn out, but because they've gone out of style, been replaced, or simply been forgotten.

Resale changes that equation. When you buy secondhand, you're not just saving money — you're reducing the demand for new production, lowering the carbon footprint of what you own, and extending the useful life of something that was made to last.

At Old Dimebox, we take that responsibility seriously. We don't just sell things — we curate them. Every item we list has been selected because it has real value left to give. We're not in the business of moving junk. We're in the business of finding quality goods a home where they'll be used and appreciated.

Responsible consumption doesn't mean buying less of everything — it means buying better, buying intentionally, and buying in ways that keep good things in circulation. That's what secondhand shopping is all about.

85 lbs

Average textile waste per person per year

The average American discards 85 pounds of clothing annually. Buying secondhand directly reduces that number — keeping wearable items out of landfills.

2–3×

Extended product lifecycle through resale

A quality item sold through resale can serve two or three owners over its lifetime, multiplying its value and reducing the need for new production.

100%

Community-sourced, locally rooted

Every item we sell comes from our community — estate sales, auctions, and local opportunities. We support communities while keeping quality goods in circulation.

Our Curation Process

How We Source

We source our inventory through estate sales, auctions, and community opportunities. We work closely with local auction companies who share our values around thoughtful curation and community care.

Not everything we find makes the cut. We select items based on quality, condition, and character — things that have real life left in them and deserve to be used again. We don't list items we wouldn't be proud to own ourselves.

When we source from an estate, we do so with care and respect. We understand that these items often carry deep personal meaning, and we take that seriously in how we present and sell them.

Shop Smarter

Tips for Sustainable Shopping

01

Start with what you need

Before buying new, check resale platforms first. You'll often find higher quality at a fraction of the price.

02

Learn basic care for vintage items

A little research goes a long way. Vintage furniture, cast iron, and clothing often just need proper cleaning and care to last decades more.

03

Think in terms of stories, not trends

Vintage and antique items are timeless by definition. They won't go out of style — and they carry character that new items like fast fashion simply can't replicate.

04

Buy once, buy well

A quality secondhand item often outlasts cheap new alternatives. Investing in something with proven durability is both economical and sustainable.

05

Pass it on when you're done

When you're ready to move on from an item, sell or donate it. Keep the cycle going. That's the spirit of resale.

Join the movement. Shop secondhand.

Every purchase from Old Dimebox is a step toward a more sustainable, thoughtful way of living.
